plug-out 'File Control' with subversion file locking

Postby tobychaloner » Wed 6 Feb 2019 15:54

Hello all

Bouml 7.5 on Windows 10
svn, version 1.11.1

I am trying to use the plugout 'File Control' with subversion file locking.
I select a package; Tool; Check-out. and run one of the following commands
svn unlock %dir\%file
svn lock %dir\%file

Something flashes on my window. Nothing changes in my project.

How do I see the output of the command?
Where in that user manual should I look for the answer to this please?

Thanks
Toby

Hello,

Sorry I just see your message.

As it is indicated in https://www.bouml.fr/doc/index_filecontrol.html the command you give is directly executed by the function system() after the substitution of %dir and %file, the possible output is not catch

To debug the best way is a priori to replace your command (here svn) by a batfile, so for instance you create the bat file "C:/temp/foo.bat" containing
Code: Select all
echo svn %1 %2
svn %1 %2
pause

and when you do the check-out you replace "svn unlock %dir\%file" by "C:/temp/foo.bat unlock %dir\%file"

Hi Bruno

Thank you. Results at last.
I am running Bouml on Windows 10. In the command prompt window I see the following:

svn C:/Users/toby.chaloner/tmp/

On Windows I need the directory path to look like svn C:\Users\toby.chaloner\tmp\

Is there a switch I can use to change this?

Many Thanks

Toby,

Yes I use '/' as a separator, normally that works under Window, for instance the bat file is launch even its path uses '/', same for the command dir etc

If sadly svn does not support '/' the simple way is to still to not use svn directly but through the bat file "svn.bat" doing :

Code: Select all
cd %2
svn %1 %3

And you change the command in "file control" to be "..../svn.bat unlock %dir %file" etc
